Rafael Trevino Barrera, 1903 Civil Registry Death Record, Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico

The following is the 1903 death transcription of Rafael Trevino Barrera at the very young age of 17 years old. A few days ago I posted his 1884 Civil Registry Birth Record. He was the brother of my 2nd great grand mother Maria de Jesus Trevino Barrera. The following document indicates that he died from a gun shot wound. Unfortunately it does not indicate if he was murdered or if it was an accident. I can't imagine the grief that this might have caused the whole family.

Acta numero 119 ciento diescinueve En la Ciudad de Mier, Tamaulipas, a las tres de la tarde del dia veinticuatro Diciembre de mil novecientos tres, a mi Enrique Garcia, Juaez del Registro Civil, me fue entregado un ofiero del tema siguiente. Al margen un sello que dice: Jusgado de 1a Ynstancia de la 5a. fraccion judicial. C. Mier Tam. - No. 1670. = Puede U. permitir la inhumacion del cadaver de Rafael Trevino quien fallecio hoy a las dos menos quince minutos de la trade a consecuencia de una erida de arma de fuego. - El occiso es de dieciocho anos de edad, soltero, labrador, de esta vecindad e hijo de Rafael Trevino y de Maria de Jesus Barrera, que viven. = Le suplico se sirva remitirme enpria simple de la acta para agregarla a la causa, = Lib. y Constitucion, C Mier Diciembre 24 de 1903. = Lic. Just wanted to let everyone know about the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Genealogical Society you can visit their website here http://www.rgvhispanicgenealogicalsociety.com. I came across this website a few days ago. Their Mission statement is as follows:

The purpose of the RGV Hispanic Genealogical Society is to promote interest in Hispanic Genealogy and to assist its members engaged in genealogical research.  Said purposes are to be accomplished through: soliciting and arranging for public funds and private contributions to be utilized in the furtherance of the Corporation; to encourage interested persons to pursue and preserve genealogical information; to provide opportunities to share Hispanic genealogical information and experiences; to collect, protect and preserve public and private Hispanic genealogical information records and to make such records available for research; to acquire Hispanic Hispanic historical data and resources and make them available to the public and the genealogical community; to accept donations, services, and materials to be used for any activity which will be of service to the genealogical society.

1884 Civil Registry of Rafael Trevino Barrera, Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico

The following is the image and transcription of the 1884 birth of Rafael Trevino Barrera. He was the brother of my 2nd great grand mother Maria de Jesus Trevino Barrera. Their parents are Rafael Trevino Trevino and Maria de Jesus Barrera Pena. This document indicates that Rafael Trevino Barrera was born in Alameda St, on the house labeled 31 in Mier Tamaulipas Mexico. I wonder if that house is still there. This document also indicates that the maternal grandparents of the child were from La Lajilla, which is only a few miles away from El Arcabuz.

Ante mi Casimiro Garcia Juez del Estado Civil de esta Municipalidad Comparecio el Ciudadano Rafael Trevino de cuarenta anos de edad. Casado de campo, originario del Rancho del Arcabuz de esta jurisdiccion y vecino de esta Ciudad y presento un nino vivo manifestando que nacio en esta propia Ciudad en la casa numero treinta y uno de la calle de la Alameda y a las cuatro de la mananadel dia tres del corriente mes que a dicho nino le inpuso el nombre de Rafael Trevino, que es hijo legitimo del comparesente y de su esposa la Senora Maria de Jesus Barrera = de treinta anos de edad. casada, originaria de la Lajia y vecina de esta Son abuelos paternos del espresado nino el ciudadano Domingo Trevino que vive viudo de sesenta anos de edad. y la finada Elena Pena. Jose Benito Gonzalez, 1899 Baptism in Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico

The following is the 1899 baptism record of Jose Benito Gonzalez. He was the brother of my great grandmother Maria Amalia Gonzalez. It indicates that he was born at Guardados de Arriba Ranch back in March 31, 1899. This mentioned ranch is now a small town.
